Easy peasy dessert for a hot Summer day: peaches marinated in red wine and spices.
It can be served with vanilla ice-cream or not so sugary whipped cream.
When eating, pay attention to the cloves and the peppercorns, dont' chew on them or otherwise a hot Summer day could become an hot angry day.
And PLEASE, use good red wine, not a cheap, lousy one (that horrible stuff should neverever enter your home anyway).
Cheap "cooking wine" can really spoil the best of recipes. Always use good wines for your dishes, for example leftovers of bottles you didn't finish.
You can also open a bottle for preparing your food, another great excuse (as if one was needed) to drink a glass...
Peaches marinated in spicy red wine
Serves 4
Ingredients:
8 peaches or nectarines
red wine (enough to just cover the peaches)
2 tablespoons of sugar
7-8 cloves
1 or 2 cinnamon sticks
a few black peppercorns
blueberries or strawberries
vanilla ice-cream or whipped cream
Cut the peaches or nectarines in slices. Lay them in red wine in which you've dissolved the sugar, enriched with cloves, peppercorns and cinnamon.
Leave them to marinate in the fridge for at least a couple of hours (more if possible).
Add the blueberries just before serving and enjoy with lots of spiced wine and some ice-cream or whipped cream.

Easy peasy and delicious indeed :)
